Main products and services

At IDOM, we have more than 30 years of experience in the railway sector, covering high-speed, conventional and freight rail, as well as urban mass-transit systems, especially metro and tram. Over this period, we have participated in the design of thousands of kilometres of railway networks in large-scale projects, covering the full infrastructure life cycle—from concept and planning to operation and maintenance. This track record enables us to provide comprehensive management of railway systems (high-speed, conventional, commuter and freight) and urban transport (metro, tram and BRT), delivering robust and efficient technical solutions aligned with the highest international standards through the following products and capabilities:

Planning and functionality (functionality and feasibility analysis, demand assessment, master plans and transport plans)
Studies and preliminary projects (analysis of alternatives, informative and feasibility studies, preliminary design)
Execution projects (civil works and track, electrification, signalling and ERTMS; GSM‑R telecommunications; CBTC and metro automation (ATO–GoA4); Control Centres; SCADA)
Site supervision and commissioning ((site technical assistance, specialist consulting, systems and rolling-stock integration and management, commissioning, RAMS and operations support)
Project Management across all phases of the contract
Architecture (Stations and Major Terminals, Hub - Transport Interchanges)
Specialised solutions (operations and traffic management systems, simulator for training rail traffic controllers, railway electrification optimisation)
Technological innovation, development of proprietary software for railway-system optimisation; noise and vibration studies; construction management support tools; tunnel safety verification; stray current analysis; asset life‑cycle optimisation; and web applications for monitoring and controlling construction inspections. DOM also has its proprietary IDOM‑REPS tool, designed to simulate, calculate and size the electrical elements of an electric traction system—from the substation to the rolling stock.

Innovations

Training‑oriented rail traffic simulator, developed for ADIF (Spain)
Development of proprietary applications, including IDOM‑REPS, a simulator for electric mobility systems initially developed for railway applications. It can evaluate voltages and currents in the catenary and rolling stock, as well as in the different conductors that make up the system. It includes a thermal module considering radiation, convection, ambient temperature and Joule effect. It incorporates the parameters defined in TSI 2014 and EN 50119, and is part of IDOM’s suite for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and grounding studies. Initially developed for ADIF, it has been used for network sizing for PKP (Poland), TCDD (Turkey), NW Circular (India), EFE (Chile), among others.
Project development in a collaborative environment using BIM methodology.

Areas 45 offices in 125 countries.
